Fun and exciting adventure for all the family down the

river Kitka. Starting from the village of Käylä this route passes through deep forests full of wildlife, down seven rapids (class I-III) to the lake at Juuma. During the journey your skipper/wilderness guide chooses a place to stop for a snack, making the camp fire where we can swap stories of our adventure over a fresh coffee.

The Wild Route

This is for the adventurous! Starting from the farming village of Juuma, the beginning is demanding with the falls of Myllykoski (III) and rapids of Aallokkokoski (IV) to conquer. We can view Jyrävä waterfall from the land. Then we continue down through the rugged beauty of the Kitka canyon through the Oulanka National Park, which is famous for its wildlife, fauna and climate, finally ending just before the Russian border. We stop during the journey for a well deserved break, making a campfire by the riverside, where your skipper/wilderness guide can tell you the wonders of the nature.

A drop of some 85m from top to bottom (rapids classed from I-IV)

Note!

We can also make other trips on the Kitkajoki river.

These programs are popular with company groups to encourage the team spirit (Team Building), Hen and Stag parties for wedding occasions and all others looking for adventure in the great outdoors.

Minimum group sizes are four persons.

We have a `No rush with Us´ policy, which means that we take the time to teach you all the relevant safety procedures and make your trip the most enjoyable!

Trip package includes: own Guide/Skipper, all the required rafting equipment, pack lunch/snack, transportation to the starting point, own responsibility insurance and taxes.

We can also arrange transport if needed for example from Ruka to the starting point.
